My Values

I am a Leader

During my time on the Council, we have worked hard to improve infrastructure, develop outdoor recreation opportunities, and create a place where citizens love to live, work and play.

I am not just a candidate looking to win an election, but a leader with a passion to see Farmington reach its greatest potential.

Like many cities in New Mexico, Farmington is facing challenges ahead but we have opportunities as well. And I would love to continue to be
part of shaping the vision of Farmington.

I Have a Strong Work Ethic

My roots in Farmington and love of this community run deep. In the 1950s, my grandfather owned and operated a small farm in south Farmington.

Farming is hard work and there wasn’t a single day my grandparents didn’t put everything they had into making their small business a success. I learned that if you worked hard, the only things that could stop you were the limits you placed on yourself.

My grandparents were a strong and profound influence on my life. From both my grandparents and my parents, I learned a strong work ethic as well as a dedication to faith, family and community.  I pledge to continue my dedicated service to Farmington and will work hard to serve the needs of residents in District 1.

I am Passionate

Community involvement is a value I strongly believe in. I want to continue to be active participant in the city, finding creative solutions based on logic and reason, and be the voice for the hard-working people in Farmington in District 1.

I am a Good Listener

I make the effort to listen to people and to understand their points of view.  While I have differing opinions at times, I enjoy discussing issues with others and take notes habitually, so when someone presents something to the city council I won’t forget it.

I listen to communicate effectively, build solid relationships and learn new things. To be an effective problem-solver, you must listen to people.  This important skill has served me well while serving for the past six years on the Farmington City Council.

I am Service Oriented

Having a service-oriented mindset is a value in which I strongly believe.  To be truly successful, being of service is a big part of what add a richness and true joy to my life.

When I made the decision to serve on the Farmington City Council, it was one  I did not take lightly.  I’ve always been interested in doing what I can to help wherever I could.  Some of those areas of service include San Juan United Way, press box volunteer during the Connie Mack World Series, Farmington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Commission and the Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau to name a few.

I want to continue to be an active participant in the city, finding creative solutions based on logic and reason, and be the voice for the hard-working people in Farmington in District 1.
